I love, love, love the new Stampin' Up! In-Colors-every one of them! If I was perfectly honest, I am not sure there is much in the new catalogue that I don't love. What are your favourites?
Watercolouring is very trendy right now-and I am still learning. With a background of watercolour the Flourish Thinlets are a real showstopper! Hello!
I just watered down some ink refills and used my aquapainter to brush the colour on our watercolour paper. Once that dried, I sprinkled droplets of water on the paper, let it sit for a few seconds and then dabbed the water up with a paper towel-I like the lightened areas.
And aren't the enamel dots just too cute! Love them. The greeting was made with the new Labeler Alphabet-make your own greetings-you need this stamp set!
Now the flourish-I cut it out using the new Big Shot platform-even pressure throughout, so all areas were cut evenly. A piece of black cardstock cut 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" was the perfect size-so 8 flourishes from one piece of cardstock.
Then the Die Brush to push out all the teeny tiny cut pieces!
Now-do you see the little bumps that sometimes show on the cut piece-they bug me!
Tip Alert! Put the die back in your big shot-using the usual sandwich for cutting framelits-but you are not using the framelits-just the cut out die-and before you put the top cutting pad on, place a piece of copy paper on top of the cut out die. Run this through the Big Shot and voila-no more annoying little bumps!
Now Shimmery White Cardstock is also perfect for watercolouring-a slightly softer look with that lovely shimmer. The cards with the shimmery paper are on the left. Do you see the difference?
So what colour is your favourite today-Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach or Sweet Sugarplum?
Take care,
Colleen
