Welcome to our March Creative Inking Blog Hop. I hope we can bring you a welcome diversion to all that is happening in our world. Grab a beverage and enjoy a little break from the news. I actually did not realize that yesterday was the first day of spring. Perhaps it is because I have been so focused on the news. But it could also be because I don't usually associate March 19 with the first day of spring. Trivia for you-March 19, 2020 is the earliest nationwide vernal equinox since 1896!!
Crafting is my therapy-and definitely needed these days but I have had trouble feeling creative. If you have followed me for awhile, you will know my cards today use one of my favourite layouts. Stampin' Up! features a simple stamping challenge every month #simplestamping-and the March challenge was a birthday card using only stamps, paper and ink. If you need some card making supplies and live in Canada I would love to help you. Making cards is a great activity while you are being socially distant! And you can mail the cards you make-what a treat to receive a card in the mail these days.
This is my #simplestamping card for this month

I have used a 3/4" strip of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. The flowers are also cut from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper-our Paper Snips work so well. Move the paper, not the scissors as you fussy cut-I also leave a small white border-so forgiving and makes you look like a pro. Happy birthday was stamped on Whisper White cardstock with Memento Black ink and the Label Me Bold Stamp set-a must have stamp set from the Stampin' Up! January to June 2020 mini Catalogue.
A few extra supplies step up this card

I added Basic Pearls and Whisper White Baker's Twine. Both cards use Whisper White Notecards-another basic every stamper should have.

As a retired public health nurse, I have to sneak this in-please wash your hands, please practice social distancing and if you have traveled anywhere, please self isolate when you return. I have always said take care at the end of all my e-mails and blog posts. I love the phrase that Dr. Bonnie Henry, the Medical Health Officer in British Columbia, Canada uses at the end of her daily updates. I will leave you with her words-Be kind, be calm, take care.
